This very impressive pair of antique bergere armchairs are fantastic quality & very comfortable too. Take a good look at all the images to see all the features, especially the depth of carving. They have solid satinbirch frames & have double cane panels throughout. The cane work, all looks original & in good condition, although I've just noticed one back panel has a small break in it. This could be patched up, without re-caning, or just left alone, because it's behind the cushion & certainly doesn't affect the structure of the whole area, which is still very tight. These armchairs have just been re-covered in a light grey fabric & the cushions are generously filled with feathers. The frames are in good original condition & I would say they date from around the 1890-1910 period.
