Antique Victorian mahogany stepped commode, with a flame mahogany panel & leather inserts. Nice quality, with plenty of character & quite useful, unless you want it for it's original intent. It's structurally sound, with normal markings for the age, which I would put at 1860-1880.
Very heavy solid well made antique trunk, with iron carrying handles & an unusual iron catch. This trunk is probably 150 years old & possibly a lot older. Take a good look at all the images to see all the nice features. I'm not sure what wood it is. My polisher said it was mahogany, but I'm not convinced. There are brass studs inset on the top & back, whilst inside are two small drawers & a lift up compartment. The whole piece is very distressed with lots of various knocks, indentations, etc, so please don't expect it to look new. It has load of character & originality. It is however, structurally sound.
Nice quality small antique etagere. This piece is either French or Italian & is 19th century, probably about 1880. It is smothered in marquetry & inlay of many different woods. I couldn't possibly name them all. There are gilt metal edges to all the shelves, with a decorative gallery on the top. The legs are ebonized.
This antique Victorian hall stand, is in good original condition throughout. The whole piece is constructed from bamboo, with the original 'Japaned work' & it even has the original brass hooks. In fact, everything is just as it was, over 100 years ago. I don't think I've ever come across one as nice as this. Obviously, there are some minor markings here & there, commensurate for age. Take a good look at the images & see for yourselves all the fine features. I would date this stand to around the 1880 period.
