Antique French style nicely shaped coffee table, with gilt metal mounts & top edge. The top surface is parquetry, with an inlaid cross banded border. The legs are nicely shaped too. I think the wood could be a combination of Walnut, Kingwood & Mahogany. This table is in good original condition & has plenty of character. I would say it dates to around the 1930-50's period.
Antique French style nest of three tables with parquetry & inlaid tops. They also have gilt metal mounts & rims. There is a bit of fading showing on some of the tops, which could be got rid of if I had them stripped & polished, but I think it gives them more character as is. They are in good original condition & I would say they date to around the 1930's period.
This antique French style coffee table has a beautifully grained marble top. It has many other nice features too. There are porcelain plaques set in gilt metal mounts all around the top. It also has gilt metal mounts & feet. The legs are turned & fluted. This coffee table has lots of character, is in good condition & I would say it dates to around the 1930-50's period.
Very impressive marble top cabinet with amazing gilt metal mounts. It's antique French style & I would say it dates to around the 1930-50's period. The mounts are either ormolu, gilt metal or perhaps both & the quality of the castings is very good. The panels in the centre of the doors are solid bronze & they are spectacular. The bronze panels which have classical scenes depicted does have a bit of green showing in places & I believe this is normal on bronze, because of ageing. I should imagine it can be cleaned, but one would need to use the right materials, in order not to spoil the patina. The wood looks to me like Kingwood, with Burr Walnut panels & some inlay too. The marble top is in perfect condition & a lovely colour. There is a light inside, although I can't guarantee it's still works & one should always have these things checked by a qualified electrician. This magnificent cabinet is in good original condition all over. Please take a good look at all the images to see for yourselves all the amazing features on this piece.
