Elegant antique Georgian style mahogany display cabinet, with tear drop mouldings on the cornice, flame mahogany bottom doors & shaped bracket feet. The top doors have astral glazing, with two glass shelves inside & fabric on the back. This display cabinet is in good original condition & I would say it dates to around the 1930-50's period. It comes apart in two pieces. We photographed it without the glass shelves in, but it does have them.
This antique display cabinet is in excellent original condition. These original chinoiserie pieces are becoming quite difficult to find, especially in such good condition. It dates to around the 1910 period & is structurally sound. The lining on the shelves & back has just been redone in a moray silk type of fabric. The lacquer work is in great shape. Please take a good enlarged look at all the images to see the intricate lacquer work & all the other fine details. There is also a working key for the doors.
At first glance this display cabinet looks like the typical Edwardian examples, but have a closer look, because my restorer reckons it's actually antique Georgian. I can't give you an exact date, but it's definitely earlier than Edwardian. It came from a private residence in London & has been restored, polished & re-lined. The shelves are missing in the images, so it's not looking as balanced as it should. The shelves need a lot of attention & we may have to remake them before we line them in the same fabric. This display cabinet has a dental cornice, with satinwood inlay & banding below. This inlay & banding is repeated many times all over the cabinet. The doors have reeded astral glazing & the glass looks original too. There are two smaller cupboards below with oval panels & the whole piece sits on square tapered spade end feet. This display cabinet is in one piece & is quite heavy. There are solid panels on the back & it's structurally sound.
Very slim walnut antique Queen Anne style display cabinet in good condition. I think this cabinet may have been bleached a long time ago & it has a lovely mellow colour. It also has some nice carvings in various places & there are many other lovely features within it, so please enlarge all of the images. It even has some carving within the astral glazing bars. I would say it dates to around the 1920-30's. This display cabinet is of very small proportions.
