This impressive antique William 1V mahogany linen Press, still has all the original slides behind the top cupboards & is in good original condition, dating to around the 1830-40's period. It has a good original colour & patina too. Obviously there will be various marks & indentations, due to the fact it's over 150 years old, but still it's structurally sound. This piece can be taken apart into three sections & the sliding shelves can be taken out if so wished, because someone has put in a hanging rail, which is very useful too. One thing I would say, is never throw these slides away, because they definitely add value to the item. The drawer handles are old brass, but they are not original, because there is still evidence of wooden handles behind & even they may have been changed at some point, who knows? Either way, to look at this piece, at first sight you would think that these handles were original. The two doors have beautiful flame mahogany arched panels & there are locks to all the drawers, but I can't guarantee they still work, because there are no keys.
