This fabulous desk is beautifully made & has a wonderful shape too. It's antique Georgian style, satinwood, with some fine inlay & a hand coloured tooled leather writing surface. This writing table is two sided, so it could be used as a partners desk. There are three drawers on the front, with locks, brass handles & the drawer bottoms are mahogany. These drawers are beautifully made with very fine dovetails. The drawers on the back are dummies. The top edge, the drawer fronts & the sides have some very fine crossbanding & inlay in what I believe is rosewood or satinwood. The legs are tapered & culminate in spade end feet. There are many other fine features, so please enlarge all of the images. At first glance, this writing table looks like high quality Edwardian, but it's been made more recently, although it's hard too tell. Either way, it's a one off & in a high class retail establishment in town, would command £4000-£5000.
