Antique Georgian Period Tilt Top Mahogany Occassional Table

Very solid & heavy antique Georgian period table probably dating from around the 1750 period. This table is in the same condition as I obtained it & has loads of character. It's structurally sound & I would say it could do with a good wax. The round tip up top looks like it's one solid piece of wood. This sits on a bird cage base, which at the moment doesn't seem to be turning, but there is probably a lot of dirt in it. This in turn sits on an unusually stocky turned stem, with tripod pad feet. I'm fairly sure it's mahogany, but it could be red walnut. The top is flat, with no splits or warps & there are lots of minor indentations, old scratches, marks, etc one would expect to find on a table of this age. The same goes for the rest of this table. I can just make out one small insert repair about a 1/2" diamond shape, in the top. This must be a very old repair & is not really noticeable at first look. This really is a lovely original period item of furniture, which has come from a private source. I'm sure all you purest period dealers will find the odd faults, but basically I have tried to describe it as honest as I can. I'm no expert, so take a good enlarged look at all of the images & make your own minds up.
